Seminar

Every teacher in a Lutheran school is a principal partner in the ministry and mission of the school. The Seminar Program empowers the non-Lutheran school teacher with an understanding of the faith and practice of the Lutheran church.

The Seminar Program: Foundations in Lutheran Teaching

We are pleased to invite non-Lutheran teachers serving in Lutheran schools to participate in The Seminar Program: Foundations in Lutheran Teaching. You will find this to be an interesting, inspiring, and helpful program of study. In it you will find clear explication of the Christian faith with particular emphasis on doctrines considered distinctively Lutheran. It is the intent of the program to help you serve well within a Lutheran Christian environment.

The program is self-paced. Each seminar consists of a set of streaming videos. The five online seminars cover the following topics:

  1. Introduction to Lutheran Teachings
  2. Lutheran Perspectives on the Old Testament
  3. Lutheran Perspectives on the New Testament
  4. History of the Church
  5. The Role of the Teacher in a Lutheran School

After completing each seminar, the student is asked to spend an hour with his or her mentor-pastor discussing a set of questions specific to that particular seminar. The program concludes with a final project in which the student applies the knowledge gained from The Seminar Program in a classroom setting.

Each seminar costs $99.00. There is no schedule. A student may begin the program at any time.
